COACHELLA, Calif., August 24, 2014 — The City of Coachella has lined up four Latin bands to perform at the annual El Grito / Fiestas Patrias celebration, which will take place from 3 to 10 p.m. Sept. 13 at Rancho Las Flores Park.

The live music will begin at 5:30 p.m. with Jesus Mendoza, followed by Jorge Valenzuela at 6:30 a.m., El Dasa at 8 p.m. and the headliner, Banda Carnaval, at 9 p.m.

Coachella typically draws more than 15,000 people to its annual El Grito / Fiesta Patrias music and cultural event, which commemorates the beginning of Mexico’s independence movement from Spain.

The Sept. 13 event, promoted in partnership with the Coachella Chamber of Commerce and Univision Palm Springs, is one of the largest El Grito events in Southern California.
